Abstract Rhythm & Blue Notes Exhibition

A joyous coming together of like minded artists

Abstract Rhythm & Blue Notes exhibition

Most of November was dominated by the Abstract Rhythm and Blue Notes exhibition in Whitstable.

This came about as the result of an intensive year long course under the tutelage of Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery, which was an exploration of the intersection of photography, art and abstraction.

The course was conducted online during and between the various Covid-19 lockdowns.  Without Covid none of this may have happened, so every cloud has a silver lining as they say.   It gave me the opportunity to meet and work with other like minded artists from around the world.

At the end of the course we then spent almost another year of Zoom meetings to plan our exhibition and everything associated with it.

So when we finally got to the Horsebridge gallery in Whitstable to set everything up it was quite a moment!  The first time many of us had met face to face.

After all the nerves, wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth everything came together beautifully and the whole experience was one of joy.

We had lots of visitors and lots of positive comments and many new friends were made.

It was so much fun, some of us are planning to do it all again in May 2023, but this time in New York …..
