I always find the whole New Year thing a bit difficult. Its a time when we are supposed to look back on what has past and make resolutions for the coming year. But this change over is quite artificial really – time just rolls along and we must roll along with it. It is interesting to look back and see how we arrived at the present moment, how echoes and memeories live within us and can affect the way we move forward, but the ‘now’ very soon becomes ‘then’, so we must savour it while we may.
Having said that 2023 has been an exciting year for me and one I will remember for a long time. I was lucky enough to have been part of several exciting group exhibitions with some wonderful artists, including one in New York. I have also held my first solo show “Seeing the Unseen” which was a very enjoyable experience (there is a video of the exhibition here). I really enjoy sharing my work and seeing what others see in it.
I am so grateful for all the support, kindness and engagement this year. So if you have bought my work, come to any of the exhibitions, followed me on instagram or shared your thoughts with me in any way – thank you thank you thank you – it is truly appreciated.
One thing I have learned though is that I need to create space in this hurly burly – space to create, space to breathe and space to explore all those ‘what if’ ideas that never seem to get off the ground!
I have a few things planned for 2024 but am planning some time out too. I hope that you will all allow yourselves the luxury of some play-time too and wish you all the best for the coming year – I hope to see you somewhere along the way!
