... tomorrow the world!!

New York, Whitstable, Buxted

So after the excitement of the Abstract Rhythm and Blue Notes exhibition last November, I basically went into hibernation over the Winter!  But now Spring is in the air and lots of exciting things are happening.

New York, New York

First of all, I am about to fly out to New York to show some of my work as part of the Rhythm of the Unseen exhibition.  It will be so exciting to meet with old friends again and .. well just to be in New York.  See the exhibition website rhythmoftheunseen.com for more details.

SIX Exhibition

Then almost as soon as I get back I have a wonderful opportunity to exhibit with an amazing set of artists at the Horsebridge Gallery in Whitstable.  The group are called Six and details of the exhibition can be seen here or follow @sixexhibition on Instagram

South East Open Studios

Almost at the same time I am taking part in South East Open Studios with some lovely artists right here at home in rural east Sussex – details here

So it’s going to be a very busy couple of months.

Barkscapes

During my winter hibernation I started to become fascinated by the patterns you can see in the bark of trees.  Particularly very old trees  who show their history in their skin.  One such, is a very ancient yew tree in the churchyard near where I live.  It is said to pre-date Christ – which may or may not be true – but it is certainly many hundreds of years old.

So this has given rise to a developing new series of “landscapes”  hidden in the bark … so I am calling them Barkscapes.
