Had a quick dash round the Rodin exhibition at Tate Modern - how I wish I could sculpt! It was as fascinating as I knew it would be, it's the details and expression which connect so strongly. Although I guess if you're locked up with these monumental works day after day you need to turn your gaze away?

Angel of Creation

From peeling plaster,
An angel of creation,
Gazes at the void.
Visited an old church at East Guldeford near Rye which has a wonderful painted mural of angels depicting the 6 days of creation. The church is ancient (14th century) but these paintings are late 19th century .. apparently around the time Darwins theory of evolution was published .... I fear they were fighting a losing battle, but beautiful nevertheless.
This is my impression of one of them.
